    What it does

Replit combines a browser-based development workspace with AI assistance and publishing tools. It gives you a place to inspect the project as you move from a written idea to a running app.

    When to use it

You want to build and inspect a prototype without first configuring a local development environment.

What you need: A Replit account and a small app idea with a clear success condition.

    Try a small build

A suggested exercise to help you evaluate the resource.

    1. Create a project for a simple habit tracker using sample data. Describe how checking and unchecking a habit should behave.
    2. Run the app and inspect the files. Check whether refreshing the page preserves or resets the data, and decide what you need.
    3. Test an empty list and a long habit name before exploring deployment. Read the current publishing and usage requirements.

You should end up with: A running prototype and a clear understanding of where its data lives.

    Keep in mind

A working preview does not prove that authentication, storage, or production configuration is complete.
