    What it does

Playwright automates browsers to test complete user journeys. Its browser support includes Chromium, Firefox, and WebKit, so checks can cover more than a single rendering engine.

    When to use it

A core flow must keep working after changes, such as searching a library and opening a result.

What you need: A running web app and a development environment that meets the current Playwright requirements.

    Try a small build

A suggested exercise to help you evaluate the resource.

    1. Follow the official installation guide and start the app you want to test.
    2. Write one test using role or label locators: enter a search, open a result, and verify its heading.
    3. Run it at a desktop and phone viewport. Introduce a temporary failure locally to make sure the assertion catches it.

You should end up with: A repeatable check for one meaningful user journey.

    Keep in mind

Tests need realistic assertions. A successful page load alone does not establish that the user completed the task.
