axe-core is an accessibility testing engine that identifies machine-detectable problems in web interfaces. It can support browser and automated testing workflows with structured findings.
When to use it
You want repeatable checks for common accessibility regressions while building or changing a page.
What you need: A web page to inspect and a testing integration described in the official repository.
Try a small build
A suggested exercise to help you evaluate the resource.
- Choose a page with representative headings, fields, links, and controls. Run an axe-core integration against it.
- Read the explanation for each finding and fix the underlying markup or styling rather than suppressing it.
- Run the check again, then navigate the page manually with a keyboard and review the content order.
You should end up with: A reviewed set of automated findings plus a separate manual keyboard check.
Keep in mind
Automated checks cover only part of accessibility. A clean report does not establish WCAG conformance or usability.
