Open official siteWhat it does
Netlify publishes web projects from Git and provides deploy previews for reviewing changes. It also offers server-side capabilities when a site needs more than static files.
When to use it
You want to publish a web project and review each change at a shareable preview URL.
What you need: A Netlify account, a repository, and the project's build and publish-directory settings.
Try a small build
A suggested exercise to help you evaluate the resource.
- Connect a small site repository. Confirm the build command and publish directory instead of guessing them.
- Open the deployed site and check its images, links, and direct navigation to an inner page.
- Open a pull request with one visible change and compare its deploy preview with production.
You should end up with: A published site with a separate place to review upcoming changes.
Keep in mind
Routing rules, environment variables, and server functions need their own configuration. Check current plan limits for your project.
