View repositoryWhat it does
Motion adds animation and gesture tools to React and JavaScript interfaces. It can animate values and layout changes so transitions communicate what changed on the screen.
When to use it
A change of state needs continuity, such as expanding a panel or rearranging a list.
What you need: A React or JavaScript project and a working interaction to animate.
Try a small build
A suggested exercise to help you evaluate the resource.
- Choose an existing expandable panel and make sure it works before adding animation.
- Follow the framework's Motion documentation to animate one transition. Start with a short duration and a small amount of travel.
- Test rapid opening and closing, keyboard use, and the reduced-motion setting. Ensure the content stays available.
You should end up with: A transition that explains a state change without delaying the task.
Keep in mind
Motion is an enhancement. Preserve semantic controls and an experience that works when travel and animation are reduced.
