    What it does

Rive combines visual animation tools with runtimes for interactive experiences. State machines let an animation respond to inputs rather than simply play from start to finish.

    When to use it

You need an animation that responds to product state, such as idle, working, success, or error.

What you need: The Rive editor and a small interaction to model. App integration also needs the appropriate runtime.

    Try a small build

A suggested exercise to help you evaluate the resource.

    1. Draw a simple shape and create two visibly different animation states.
    2. Connect the states with a state machine input and test the transition in the editor.
    3. Follow the runtime documentation for your target platform and drive the input from a real UI control.

You should end up with: An animation that changes when a user or application supplies an input.

    Keep in mind

Keep essential status information available as text, and provide an appropriate reduced-motion experience in the host application.
