Radix Primitives provides unstyled React components for common interaction patterns. It handles many details of keyboard navigation and focus behavior while leaving visual styling to your project.
When to use it
You are building a custom interface and need a dependable foundation for a dialog, menu, tabs, or similar control.
What you need: A React project and basic familiarity with components and CSS.
Try a small build
A suggested exercise to help you evaluate the resource.
- Follow the official dialog example in a small React project. Give the dialog a descriptive title and a clear close action.
- Apply your own typography and spacing without removing the component's semantic structure.
- Open it using the keyboard, move focus through its controls, close it with Escape, and check where focus returns.
You should end up with: A styled dialog whose keyboard behavior you have checked directly.
Keep in mind
Accessible primitives help, but labels, contrast, content, and the complete user journey remain your responsibility.
